L'automne et le bois mort des forêts sous la grisaille ; l'hiver, la neige, la glace et la dépression... Sadness a multiplié les peintures de ces deux saisons au début de sa carrière. Le diptyque Rose / Lavender change subtilement la perspective puisque ces deux fleurs s'épanouissent au cœur du printemps. D'une beauté émotionnelle hallucinante. Les hurlements suraigus de Damián arrachent la peau. Les parties instrumentales (assez pléthoriques soit dit en passant) sont superbes, nostalgiques, émouvantes à en pleurer. Et malgré tout ça, Damián ne se contente pas de créer simplement des odes à la tristesse : il s'agit aussi — et peut-être surtout — d'éveiller un sentiment d'empathie face à l'indifférence, surtout sur "Something Hurts...". Une sorte de thérapie qui vise la guérison du mal par le mal.
